Will the trademark abuse reporting form ever go live?

The trademark abuse reporting form mockup hasn't had a substantive edit since 2014, after being created in 2013 to be discussed. No discussion has happened since 2013. User:Rkwon (WMF) was in that discussion and said The WMF Legal team will monitor any reports of potential trademark violations that come to us via this form and respond as appropriate, so it looks like the form was a WMF-endorsed thing as of then. Section 6.1 of the current live version of the policy page links to the form as if it's live. But it still only exists as a mockup, six and a half years later. Is that going to change (anytime soon)? ← PointyOintment (talk) 18:24, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

Giving different names to wikis in languages other than English

Hi,

Wikimedia projects usually start with English content and an English name. For years, it has been a common practice in many languages that when an edition of a project begins in another language, the name is not just transliterated from English, but fully translated. The "Wiki" part is usually kept as-is, and the "Wikipedia" name is usually close to the original English (although I think there are some exceptions even there), but the other part is often different. =

For example, Wikidata is "Wikidannyie" in Russian, and Wikibooks is "Vikiuchebnik" (I'm writing the Russian names in the Latin alphabet for easier reading). "Dannyie" means "Data", as you would expect, and "uchebnik" means "textbook" in Russian, which is a little different from the original "-books", but in a way it is an even better description of what the project does than the original English name.

These are just two examples from one language. There are hundreds of others.

As far as I know, the Foundation's trademark professionals never complained about this. However, I couldn't find an explicit written publicly-available policy that says that this is allowed from the trademark law perspective. Is there such a thing? Sorry if it exists, and I just missed it :)

Tagging some people who can be relevant: User:RStallman (WMF), User:CRoslof (WMF).
