Talk:Strategy/Wikimedia movement/2017/Topics/The world in 2030

On Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2017/Process/Briefing#What_we_know_about_the_future:_2030.C2.A0and_beyond (of which this is the linked subpage), the depicted extrapolation for world population goes all the way to 2100. This seems quite a leap, and unreliable given the major changes that can happen over such time span. There is no indication of uncertainty in the table by margin of error, etc. Even for the extrapolation to 2050, there are varying models. Is there a particular reason why an extrapolation to 2100 is essential? At this point, it feels mostly distracting, as we're discussing 2030. An image like this one until 2050 with margins seems more appropriate. Effeietsanders (talk) 10:42, 18 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
