Link to clickstream data?

I find WikiNav to be a very complementary tool to pageviews analysis. Would it be possible to put a link to WikiNav somewhere on the pageviews analysis page as a kind of "see also"? {{u|Sdkb}} ^talk 04:15, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

Yes, the maintainers have reached out to me about this before. The only issue is not every page has clickstream data, so I think the plan is to use their API to first see if it's available, then surface some basic figures while also linking to WikiNav. PagePiles are not working

@Mohammad Hijjawi Could you provide a link, or the pagepile ID?

There is one known issue that "No data found" sometimes means zero pageviews, it's just misleadingly presented as an error. That may or may not be what's happening here.

Also, PagePile integration might be removed or changed in the future, as it I believe is being superseded by toolforge:gulp. MusikAnimal (WMF) (talk) 16:13, 10 July 2023 (UTC)

Hi, Update: I think there is a current issue in the pagepiles in general, I tried to use petscan and pagepile tools to generate a page pile of a list of articles but failed and always faced issues that I did not face before, will this be fixed soon? It works fine for other Page Piles that I checked, such as 51046. When I inspect the response from the Page Pile tool when using your pile (34555), I see the response is cut off and it contains invalid JSON. This is an issue with the Page Pile tool itself, which apparently as you say is having other problems as well. I can't help with that, unfortunately. Pageviews for user contributions

Most Special pages are not included in the pageviews pipeline, though they used to be (example). I'm not sure why they were removed. That would be a question for the Data Engineering team. MusikAnimal (WMF) (talk) 16:16, 10 July 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for your reply, it seems like historic pageviews for the top-level special pages https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:SpecialPages are available. Per your example for the pageviews of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions. Is there anyway to view it for a particular user?

Are you talking about ru:Матейча, Даниэль? That page appears to have been created on August 3, 2023. It is now showing both in XTools and Userviews. Note that pageviews take up to 24 hours to populate, and also redirects are not included in Userviews. MusikAnimal (WMF) (talk) 16:38, 21 August 2023 (UTC)

@Sergio09200 Pageviews are tied to the page title, not the page ID. The old pageviews are still there, just under the old name. You can either query for both pages (example), or in most cases you can use the "Include redirects" option (example).

Inconsistency in daily average

Hi! There is a little inconsistency in the tool that has bothered me for long (although it obviously is not too important): if I use Massviews, the resulting table shows me #number# / day in the column Daily average. Using Pageviews, Langviews etc., however, the column always just shows the number, without / day. The latter option makes more sense imo, as the column name already states daily. In any case, Massviews should behave exactly the same as all the other parts of the tool. Could this be fixed? Thanks, XanonymusX (talk) 15:14, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
