The translation text is wrong in localized graphics
editOnly the title is wrong.
Original text is "參與維基共享資源的一些有用的提示" which is a Traditional Chinese/zh-hant/中文(繁體) text. refer :Licensing tutorial/zh-hant
However, the title in localized graphics is "參與維基共享資源时的有用提示" which is a Simplified Chinese/zh-hans/中文(简体) text. refer: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2d/Licensing_tutorial_zh-hant.svg
- Thanks so much for catching this. Since I don't read Chinese, I reused the zh-hans graphics to make the zh-hant version, and I must have missed this one. I've just uploaded a new version with the correct title. Please do tell me if you notice other errors; I did my best but there may be others. Thanks again! guillom 08:42, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
"public figures and people photographed in public places"
editHi, all. I have one question. "public figures and people photographed in public places" means
- public figures in public places &
- (non-public) people in public places,
is it right? Or public figures and public people?--aokomoriuta 11:49, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- I'd like to clarify the question Aokomoriuta and I have. The sentence seems to have three different readings, namely,
Reading#1 | Reading#2 | Reading#3 | |
---|---|---|---|
public figures in public places | OK | OK | OK |
public figures in non-public places | OK | ||
non-public people in public places | OK | OK | |
non-public people in non-public places |
- In order to choose the appropriate translation in Japanese, we would like to know which one is actually intended in the original text. --whym 12:28, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
It's both: pictures of people who are public figures are accepted, and pictures of people in public places are accepted. I hope it's clearer. Thanks for your help with the translation! guillom 14:34, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for clarification! I'm sure that will help us make more accurate translations. --whym 14:54, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
New language
editSorry if this is a stupid question - but where exactly do I add my translation (Scots Gaelic, gd)? I just need to do the text, not the artwork itself? Akerbeltz 23:20, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
- Hello Akerbeltz. You can do both if you're comfortable with Inkscape; if you prefer to do the translation of the text only, that's fine too; someone else can then take the text and localize the artwork. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any other question. guillom 09:40, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- Just the text for me please ;) but where do I put it, do I just create a new page with /gd at the end? I get a warning when i try that. Akerbeltz 11:34, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- Go to Licensing tutorial, and look at the list of languages in the right box. I added your language there. If you click on the "missing" link next to "gd/Gàidhlig", it will offer to create the page with /gd at the end, and it will preload the edit window with the original English text. All you have to do is translate, and save :) guillom 13:40, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- That's great, thanks mate! Akerbeltz 18:52, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Few experience I hope dont screw it
editWell I have to say that I always wanted to be translator. I will translate the text in the strip to spanish I dominate both languajes but I dont know if I just have to write the text in the strip like a plain text or do something else, so if I screw it send me a message as son as posible. Also I´ll love to make other translation between both languajes.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Olvvvvlo (talk • contribs) 03:58, 2 May 2011 (UTC).
- Hi, Olvvvvlo. Thank you for your interest. The page "Licensing tutorial" does not need to be translated; at least is not correct to remove the previous content for your translation. What is being translated can be saw on this template. The translations are organized in different pages. One page for each language. Regards.” Teles (Talk @ C G) 04:17, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
I added my language
editHi,
I added my language (Gilaki) and translate text. What should I do now?
If anyone want to help me andlocalize the artwork for Gilaki, please use a font that is suitable our language letters (Droid Arabic Naskh for example). || Varg (talk) 11:51, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
