This is biased. If this were Wikipedia I’d slap a {{cn}} on the claim that “Machine translation [...] didn’t have any negative impact on contributions, more the opposite, facilitating human translations in less time that would have done anyway and they would have taken longer.” This is definitely not the case on yuewiki. I do the occassional MT postedit and every single time it takes a lot of time to fix MT and sometimes MT can’t even be fixed after spending a disproportionate amount of time to fix it.

Even among professional translators there is consensus that post-editing MT does not speed up translation. Worse, it contrains your thinking and makes the resulting translation worse. Al12si (talk) 01:05, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

PS: I just did an fr>en here, not realizing Apertium was MT (I just ignored it). After I finished I noticed how wrong some of the Apertium translations were and I looked it up.
