Talk:Bengali–Chinese Cultural Exchange Program

Greeting for ZH-WIKI

Hi All neighbors. Better to write in public, and more fellows could read and engage into this discussion:

I have discussed with some Chinese fellows, and would like to work on this program as a two-wikis writing program, like Asia Month but more precisely in Bengali-Chinese.

1. The start/end time, we need to find an appropriate period for both communities. For example, Summer in China is July 1 to September 1.
2. Language/Communication. I believed this program required tri-lingual skills (i.e. BU, ZH, EN), and therefore, we need to find a coordinator who is proficient in these languages, probably from your community.
3. Token of Appreciation. Receiving a postcard is a great idea, but I would suggest more. For example, some gifts with strong Bengali or Chinese cultures to each community (1-5 USD for each). I personally could cover some balance of gift purchasing, but we need to narrow our budgeting plan into a exact number. If other could pay, is appreciated; but may increasing a risk as accusation of bribery. If our program runs great, we would ask WMF's sponsor later (e.g. in a name of both communities).
4. Article Selections. We still have challenges in selecting these articles for your translation. Perhaps, a category is more feasible.
5. Pest Control. We have some bugs in Chinese community, mostly politicians, but please do not mind considering their noises. For risk management, both of us need to discuss with our own administration/leadership, to maintain the authority & autonomy.

@এম আবু সাঈদ: Hello, I appreciate your approach to organize an exchange program. But I would like to know whether you talked to anybody from Wikimedia Bangladesh for this program this year or not. @ANKAN: thanks for your query. This page was copied from Bangladesh-German exchange program page. so it remained as it was. sorry for that. I'm removing them. I talked about the exchange program with Nahid bai earlier. so its my fault using the line.Abu Sayeed (talk) 15:26, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
