I have been collaborating with Vasanth for more than 5 years now in various capacities. Vasanth has unique blend of wide experience with Wikimedia technical spaces, where in he has built several tools useful to the community such as VideoCut Tool and Translate Tagger, and also has experience leading an affiliate in a technical space. He did an amazing job in the past years, being organization admin for Wikimedia for GSoC, which is one of the key programs for welcoming newcomers in Wikimedia technical spaces. He is always eager to listen and welcome newcomers, which I believe will be helpful in welcoming new affiliates in the movement. In addition, Vasanth's role has been crucial in transforming an informal group of technical volunteers in India, IndicTechCom, to form a user group, and from organizing ad-hoc activities into a developing a successfully funded annual plan of Indic MediaWiki Developers UG. There is a lot of learning here regarding growth of affiliates. Overall, Vasanth is a great candidate for AffCom. KCVelaga (talk) 06:57, 6 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Weak Oppose

Vasanth is not yet ready. He lacks a global approach and is too conservative. Maybe a bit later. Maimontradi (talk) 16:09, 12 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
