Stewards/confirm/2007/discussion

This is an archive page. Please do not edit anymore. The confirmation has ended.

This page was for the Stewards to discuss the confirmation of the year 2007. DO NOT EDIT IF YOU ARE NOT A STEWARD. If you are not a steward, and want to correct an error, please mention so on the talk page.

Summary of results of confirmation

edit

All arguments (even if false or ridiculous) are primarily here summarized. Then stewards can discuss whether these arguments are relevant and valid, and whether they should lead to non-confirmation.

Fantasy and Datrio have chosen not to stay for confirmation, and their steward rights can be removed.

This is   Done. — Dan | talk 23:33, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No activity since the last board elections where he was candidate. I suggest not to confirm Effeietsanders 22:56, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I hate these kind of decisions, but steward tools should be retained by active users. Cary Bass demandez 15:18, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Stated that he doesn't care if he gets confirmed or not (or something in those lines). From that and inactivity, I sadly suggest not to confirm --filip 15:36, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Misbehaviour as French bureaucrat
My French is not good enough to find the cases, and I can't judge the seriousness of these accusations. But in any case I doubt this had influence on his behaviour as a steward, or tells something about his state of mind in general. Confirm. The person who wrote this gave no details, and there is one other objection with no reason written at all; but plenty of folks want Paginazero to stay on in spite of his reduced activity. I see no problem here. — Dan | talk 23:27, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

reconfirm SJ has recently become active again, and took the time to provide a brief introduction at the reconfirmation page. Cary Bass demandez 15:48, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is the toughest 'activity' one there is in my view. While I found JayHenry's argument compelling, I nevertheless shade toward giving the benefit of the doubt this time and confirm I would ask Sj to consider voluntarily resigning during his term if he finds he cannot keep his commitment to increase activity. ++Lar: t/c 15:56, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Abuse of sysop tools on French Wikipedia
  • Refuses community opinion [on French Wikipedia]
  • Acts like a vandal on French Wikipedia
Can we find an uninvolved Francophone to expain these objections? I know nothing about this dispute. — Dan | talk 23:23, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, perhaps one of the many french speaking stewards (Anthere, Cary, Darkoneko, Guillom, Oscar, Pathoschild, Redux, or Shanel at least, and I bet I missed at least one!) could translate? Or do we need someone MORE uninvolved? ++Lar: t/c 16:03, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am under the opinion that the issues on French Wikipedia are not related to Yann's stewardship ability. There is no indication that Yann has abused his steward tools.
