Research talk:Teahouse/Phase 2 plan
Shifting ownership away from staff
edit"Decrease project team time spent on daily maintenance tasks by (50%)?"
What about increasing involvement in the project team by committed editors who are not staff? It would be good to see a long-term plan for maintaining the teahouse, with roles for coordinators / recruiters / designers / researchers. Each of which could be filled by any community member, staff or dev or otherwise.
Reply: Goal #2, "Move towards sustainability - Wikipedia is and should be sustained by the efforts of volunteers, and Teahouse should have efficient, proven systems and processes in place that allow volunteers to keep the project running for years to come"
The rest of what you mention is part of the discussion to have during phase 2, please join it when phase 2 begins. This plan is about solving some key issues in a short time frame. heather walls (talk) 00:00, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi there, mystery person! You're right though, those goals/targets should be framed with both sides clearly in mind (decreasing project team staff involvement should = increasing community involvement). I'll give some more thought to how that can be worded more clearly here, I like the way you're thinking about this. As Heather says, its true, this is a short-time-frame plan, still I do see your point that there does need to be a longer term maintenance strategy developed over time as well. Long term plans can be challenging because so much changes as you go along, so it might make more sense to think of that a bit differently than we are in this phase. Will definitely revisit this again as phase 2 moves forward. Siko Bouterse (WMF) (talk) 22:50, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
