Research talk:Data
Thanks for this lovely overview.
Don't forget our newest project, WikiData! -- phoebe | talk 15:46, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
Additional data sources?
editShould we add User Metrics data and the replicated databases within Tool Labs to this guide? Sharihareswara (WMF) (talk) 18:45, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
Additional languages
editI've translated all that content to Portuguese, so how we can include it? --Jonas (WMF) (talk) 04:19, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
Successor
editThere seems to be a proposal to supersede this page: mw:Data & Developer Hub. --Nemo 07:51, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, in that the Data and Developer Hub's mission is to "encourage developers to use Wikimedia data and APIs". But this page is a much better introduction to data. I think until there's some clear added value (such as "Showcase" articles about using WMF data or dumps), this should stay. -- SPage (WMF) (talk) 22:54, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
Recent changes stream displaces IRC Feeds
editKrinkle and Ori would like to move away from IRC feeds. So I replaced the top level with Recent changes stream, and moved the IRC info down to "Old IRC recent changes feed" subsection. -- SPage (WMF) (talk) 22:56, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
WikiWho?
editWe offer the per-token changes for a couple of languages in the WikiWho.net API. But I'm not sure what the scope of this page is and if it should be added. Since Wikimedia is already building an extension on top of it and it is used in Xtools, I thought it might be worth listing here.
Datahub link
editThe link https://datahub.io/organization/wikimedia is an HTTP 404. Nemo 07:21, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- Good catch. It's now at https://old.datahub.io/organization/wikimedia instead.
- I have updated the page to fix that link (also for Wikivoyage), and also to remove the evidently outdated claims (from 2013) that this repository is being run by the Wikimedia Foundation, and "is meant to become the place where all Wikimedia-related data sources are documented" etc.
