This language has been verified as eligible.
The language is eligible for a project, which means that the subdomain can be created once there is an active community and a localized interface, as described in the language proposal policy. You can discuss the creation of this language project on this page.

Once the criteria are met, the language committee can proceed with the approval.

If you think the criteria are met, but the project is still waiting for approval, feel free to notify the committee and ask them to consider its approval.

A committee member provided the following comment:

Project is eligible. Please contribute to the test project at incubator:Wt/dty. For LangCom: StevenJ81 (talk) 16:34, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • The community needs to develop an active test project; it must remain active until approval (automated statistics, recent changes). It is generally considered active if the analysis lists at least three active, not-grayed-out editors listed in the sections for the previous few months.
  • The community needs to complete required MediaWiki interface translations in that language (about localization, translatewiki, check completion).
  • The community needs to discuss and complete the settings table below:

Proposal edit

Doteli, or Dotyali (डोटेली) is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by about 800,000 people, most of whom live in Nepal. It was traditionally considered the western dialect of Nepali, and is written in the Devanagari script. It has official status in Nepal As per Part 1, Section 5 of Interim Constitution of Nepal 2063 (2007). There are four main dialects of Dotyali namely Baitadeli, Bajhangi Nepali, Darchuli and Dotyali. The established comprehension between these dialects is high. All dialects of Dotyali are able to share language-based materials . Words and scripts of Kumaouni language (spoken in Kumaoun part of India) are also almost similar with Doteli but dialect is bit different. (main article Doteli Language)

A Doteli Wiktionary will provide an opportunity to have a reference source of words peculiar to this language. This will also enable Doteli writers to consolidate their attempts to develop a common standard for writing in Doteli.--Nirajan pant (talk) 13:03, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
