This proposal has been approved. The Board of Trustees and language committee have deemed that there is sufficient grounds and community to create the new language project. A committee member provided the following comment: There seem to be no obvious problems with eligibility. - The community needs to develop an active test project; it must remain active until approval (automated statistics, recent changes). It is generally considered active if the analysis lists at least three active, not-grayed-out editors listed in the sections for the previous few months.
- The community needs to complete required MediaWiki interface translations in that language (about localization, translatewiki, check completion).
- The community needs to discuss and complete the settings table below:

The Fante language is spoken by a substantial population of over 2 million people in Ghana, primarily in the central and southern regions, as well as in other settlements in western Ghana. Prominent figures who have spoken the language include former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, former Ghanaian presidents Kwame Nkrumah and John Atta Mills, and Cardinal Peter Appiah Turkson, among others. Even the acclaimed author Maya Angelou learned Fante as an adult during her stay in Ghana, highlighting its importance as a cultural and linguistic heritage.
