Requests for new languages/Wikipedia Ahe

main page Request for a new language edition: Wikipedia Ahe
submitted verification final decision
Process-stop.svg This proposal has been rejected.
While this request has technically been rejected, in reality this is a request that has been sitting open or on hold for a long time with little evidence of a community coming together to build a project. If a community comes together in the future and makes a new request, LangCom would consider that new request without prejudice.

A committee member provided the following comment:

In the future, if someone wants to create a project under this code, it should be titled Kendayan. As it is, there were only two test pages, one a main page mainly in Indonesian, the other a very stubby lexicon. I'm not sure we shouldn't delete the test content, but certainly this request is stale. StevenJ81 (talk) 15:13, 7 June 2019 (UTC)
  • The community needs to develop an active test project; it must remain active until approval (automated statistics, recent changes). It is generally considered active if the analysis lists at least three active, not-grayed-out editors listed in the sections for the previous few months.
  • The community needs to complete required MediaWiki interface translations in that language (about localization, translatewiki, check completion).
  • The community needs to discuss and complete the settings table below:
What Value Example / Explanation
Language code knx (SILEthnologue) A valid ISO 639-1 or 639-3 language code, like "fr", "de", "nso", ...
Language name Ahe Language Language name in English
Language name Bahasa Ahe Language name in your language. This will appear in the language list on Special:Preferences, in the interwiki sidebar on other wikis, ...
Language Wikidata item Q3330979 - item has currently the following values:
  • en label = Ahe
  • native label (P1705) =
  • instance/subclass (P31/P279) = language /
  • Wikimedia language code (P424) =
  • writing system (P282) =
  • number of speakers (P1098) =

Item about the language at Wikidata. It would normally include the Wikimedia language code, name of the language, etc. Please complete at Wikidata if needed.
You can optionally list your user name if you are an active contributor to the test wiki. Add "N" next to your name if you are a native speaker of this language.
Links Links to previous requests, or references to external websites or documents.
Project name Wikipédia "Wikipedia" in your language
Project namespace usually the same as the project name
Project talk namespace "Wikipedia talk" (the discussion namespace of the project namespace)
Enable uploads yes Default is "no". Preferably, files should be uploaded to Commons.
If you want, you can enable local file uploading, either by any user ("yes") or by administrators only ("admin").
Notes: (1) This setting can be changed afterwards. The setting can only be "yes" or "admin" at approval if the test creates an Exemption Doctrine Policy (EDP) first. (2) Files on Commons can be used on all Wikis. (3) Uploading fair-use images is not allowed on Commons (more info). (4) Localisation to your language may be insufficient on Commons.
Optional settings
Project logo File:... 135x135 PNG derivative from a decent SVG image (instructions)
Default project timezone Jakarta "Continent/City", e.g. "Europe/Brussels" or "America/Mexico City" (see list of valid timezones)
Additional namespaces For example for a Wikisource which would need "Page", "Page talk", "Index", "Index talk"
Additional settings Anything else that should be set
submit phabricator task (includes everything automatically, except additional namespaces/settings)

See some local version of Wikipedia in Indonesia, for example Wikipedia Basa Jawa (Jv), I was interested to propose also making Dayak language Wikipedia (Ahe) Seltines (talk)

Comment Comment ISO code "knx" is Kendayan (Salako), what relations between Ahe and Kendayan? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 10:54, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
@Seltines: ^^ --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 11:39, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
Ahe seems to be a dialect of Kendayan. Test project is labeled as "Kendayan". Probably this request should be relabeled and renamed. StevenJ81 (talk) 19:20, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
Google plus one.svg but I still need suggestions from @Baba Tabita, Antony D. Green, and Millosh: --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 02:01, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
Oppose The Ahe is a deprecated language that merged to Kendayan. -- 22:31, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
