Japanese Wikiquote has reached 100 articles on December 31, 2004. It was also the last article posted in 2004. December was a month of development for the project.
- The growth ratio per month was highest since its opning. At the beginning of the month it has almost 60 articles posted during five months.
- The project has 3 active members. Some new active contributors has joined the project. Due to new contributors the diversity of the project has inceased. Japanese Wikiquote contains now original translations from Turkish, and classical Chinese in addition to translations from English and other European languages.
- Project documents have been developed. Administrative issues are slowly but steadily focused on. An user is requesting for adminship.
- Cooperation and coordiantion between other language projects. The newly created Community Portal is based on survey of precedent examples on other projects. Japanese design is based on Polish Wikiquote CP but has borrowed some features of other projects. From Polish imported Collaboration of the month has worked well on Japanese Wikiquote too. The core concept of first CotM in JA was Chrismas and related articles including Chrismas itself were contributed. Interlang links were also created in a dense.

- French Wikiquote has reached 883 articles on December 31, 2004.
- There are only 2 or 3 active contributors but the number of articles has grown quickly for 2 or 3 months.
- Some meta pages have been created but it's not finished yet.
- Wikiquote has switched to MediaWiki1.4beta3., it requires some translations, but the only one sysop seems to be absent this time, we hope it is temporary.
- A bot makes possible to manage the interwiki links, which must be developped.
- As of December 31, 2004 French Wikiquote has 108 registered accounts.
