Recruiting Wikipedia's board

This is an old (2003) failed proposal which never took off; there's no such a thing as a Wikipedia board, but you may be looking for the Arbitration Committee.

The ideal Wikipedia board is just a fantasy, right now. How should we actually go about recruiting Wikipedia's board? How does this relate to the funding we require to keep expanding and translating and recruiting editors?

Also, see the Wikipedia board manual for what they have to do on the job - knowing this in advance is probably important for anyone to agree to be 'on'...
