Présentation du projet edit
Ratiopol est un wiki à vocation politique créé le 24 août 2011 pour la version française, le 19 juin 2012 pour la version américaine. Il a pour but de répondre aux différentes problématiques auxquelles sont confrontées l'ensemble des institutions gouvernantes françaises et américaines, à tous les niveaux hiérarchiques et géographiques. L'objectif est de pouvoir impacter, via des choix pertinents et justifiés, les actions des politiques concernés. Le pari de ce site est d'estimer que l'intelligence collective d'un grand nombre de participants peut aboutir à un résultat plus pertinent qu'une petite minorité de spécialistes. La ligne éditoriale suit une démarche rationnelle avec pour objectif d'éviter les aprioris et de gagner en pertinence. Ratiopol est gratuit et n'est pas subventionné par la publicité ni par un quelconque parti ou personnalité politique. Il n'est pas nécessaire de créer un compte pour participer à Ratiopol, le cas échéant, l'adresse IP sert d'identifiant. Toutes les contributions sont faites sous licence Creative Commons, paternité, partage à l’identique.
L'intérêt d'un rattachement au sein de la fondation Wikimedia edit
Le principal intérêt d'un rattachement est une visibilité plus importante à l'ensemble des internautes et donc une implication plus importante dans le projet. L'intérêt pour l’association Wikimedia serait l’élargissement de son champ au domaine de la politique, et donc un engagement plus fort dans l'évolution de la société.

Pourquoi Ratiopol ne serait pas incompatible avec la fondation Wikimedia edit
On peut partir du principe que favoriser l'accès à la connaissance est une forme d'engagement. On peut aussi avancer que divulguer la connaissance de manière neutre et gratuite, le plus largement possible, est bénéfique pour l'ensemble de la société. La question que l'on peut alors soulever est de se demander si avec un engagement plus fort le bénéfice apporté ne serait pas également plus important. La politique est une problématique à laquelle toute société est bien sûr amenée à répondre, et même à essayer d'y répondre de la manière la plus rigoureuse et réfléchie possible. A priori il n'est pas certain qu'il y ait de meilleure solution à cela qu'un site gratuit, sans publicité, ouvert à tous et doté d'une ligne directrice orientée vers la rationalité. Le but de Ratiopol est de casser le mur qu'il pourrait y avoir entre les politiciens et les citoyens dans le sens où il est encore délicat d'impacter facilement la politique menée, même avec des propositions pertinentes, tout comme Wikipédia a cassé le mur entre les simples lecteurs lambdas et les rédacteurs d'encyclopédies. Il pourrait être tentant d'estimer que la fondation doit se cantonner à la connaissance mais qu'est-ce qui justifierait réellement une telle position ? En raisonnant de manière globale, il n'est peut-être pas certain que la séparation entre connaissance et politique soit si évidente que ça. On peut penser qu'il y a avant tout là une différence dans l'intensité de l'implication. Pousser un peu plus loin le curseur de l'engagement permettrait à la fondation Wikimedia d'apporter une réponse, nécessaire, à cette problématique de la meilleure politique possible sans pour autant renier une volonté de neutralité. Adopter un projet comme Ratiopol interpellerait et il n'y qu'en interpelant que l'on peut avancer.

Ratiopol is a political wiki created June 19, 2012 for the American version, August 24, 2011 for the French one. It aims at answering the various problems faced by all the American governing institutions, at all hierarchical and geographical levels. The goal is to impact through appropriate and justified choices the actions of the concerned politicians. The bet of this website is to estimate that the collective intelligence of a large number of contributors can lead to a better result than a small minority of specialists. The editorial line follows a rational approach with the aim of avoiding prejudices and thus to gain in relevance. Ratiopol is free and is not subsidized by advertising or by any party or politician. There is no need to create an account to participate in Ratiopol, in this case the IP address will serve as an identifier. All contributions are made under Creative Commons, paternity, share-alike, licence.
The interest of an inclusion within the Wikimedia Foundation edit
The principal value of an attachment is greater visibility to all users and therefore a greater involvement in the project. The interest for the association Wikimedia would be expanding its scope to the field of politics, and thus a stronger commitment in the evolution of our society.
Why Ratiopol would not be incompatible with the Wikimedia Foundation edit
One can assume that to promote access to knowledge is a form of engagement. One might also argue that disclosing knowledge as a neutral and free way, as widely as possible, benefits for the whole society. The question which we can then raise is to wonder if with a stronger commitment the brought profit would not be also greater. The politics is a problem which any society is of course led to answer, and even to try to answer it in a more rigorous and most thoughtful possible way. A priori it is not certain that there is a better solution for this topic that a free website without ads, open to all and with an oriented-rationality guideline. The purpose of Ratiopol is to break the wall between politicians and citizens in the sense that it is still difficult to influence the policy easily, even with relevant proposals, as Wikipedia has broken the wall between the simple readers and editors of encyclopedias. It might be tempting to believe that the foundation must be confined to knowledge but how really justify such a position? With a global reasoning, it is perhaps not certain that the separation between knowledge and politics is really obvious. One might think that it is primarily a difference in the intensity of the involvement. Involving the fundation a little bit more on the issue would provide a response, necessary, to this problematic of the best policy without abandoning a commitment of neutrality. To adopt a cross project such as Ratiopol would raise questions but this is the only way to step forward.
