The Philippine Panorama Project/Historical Markers is an initiative of the Pilipinas Panorama Community which aims to collect media files of historical markers across the Philippines for Wikimedia Commons, and eventually to be featured in its respective Wikipedia articles.
As a subproject, the initiative recognizes the importance of historical markers as a visual reminder to the present and future generations of Filipinos of their history and cultural heritage. The Philippine Panorama Project aims to be a tool for this objective through intentional visit and data gathering of its project members.
The project welcomes all types of historical markers including that of National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), local government units, and other institutions (e.g. academe, religious organizations, etc.).
