Resolution endorsing the Chapter application of PhilWiki Community

This resolution was approved by vote on 28 April 2022.

WHEREAS, the PhilWiki Community was recognized by the Affiliations Committee (AffCom) of Wikimedia Foundation on 17 October 2015 as a User Group;

WHEREAS, it adopted its first by-laws on 1 June 2016, and democratically elected its first set of board and officers on 28 March 2018;

WHEREAS, it adopted its new by-laws on 21 May 2019, applied as a non-stock non-profit corporation, and received its certificate of recognition from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Republic of the Philippines on 18 June 2019;

WHEREAS, it is registered as Philippine Wikimedia Community Inc., a non-stock non-profit corporation, which main objective is “to initiate, support, promote, participate, create, organize, develop and engage in projects, programs and activities that promote free, responsibly open-content resources and reference materials, in English and in different Philippine languages, and of the Wikimedia Foundation, Inc.;

WHEREAS, its office is located at Raul S. Roco Library Juan Q. Miranda Avenue, Concepcion Pequeña, Naga City, Region V, Philippines, 4400;

WHEREAS, in its 2021 Annual Plan finalized and formally adopted at the organization’s year-end meeting on 18 December 2020 attended by 3 board members, 4 regular members and 3 community members, that one of the user group’s objectives under its Capacity Building program is to become a Chapter within the year;

WHEREAS, in its 2022 Annual Plan currently endorsed as of 12 April 2022 by 11 community members including 8 past and current board members and officers, that one of the user group’s objectives under its Capacity Building program is to become a Chapter within the year;

RESOLVED, that the Chapter application of PhilWiki Community is formally endorsed.
