Nenzit Wikimedians User Group is a proposed Wikimedia user group to promote Wikimedia projects in Nenzit (Central Nigerian or Platoid) languages, made up of the Plateau, Jukunoid and Kainji constituent families. These languages make up a major part of the Nigerian Middle Belt numbering about 153 (See Platoid languages template on Wikipedia). These languages are spoken by people with a common socio-cultural background deeply rooted in the area natively known as the Nenzit region.
The proposed Wikimedia user group aims to curb the rate of loss of languages in the region by introducing Wikimedia projects in these languages, spoken by over 20 million people in Central Nigeria, Northwest Cameroon, and Alibori and Borgou departments of Benin Republic.
