Objective:

The MCDC Ambassador Program aimed to facilitate discussions and awareness around the Movement Strategy Initiative, MCD and the Movement Charter its self , the question about Equity in Decision Making within the movement was curiously asked by the Rwandan community. to be discussed in detail in the next Movement Charter conversation since that was just an introduction every one was given a home work to go and read the document for the next discussions,

Key Points: Equity in Decision Making:

The Movement Charter Ambassadors highlighted MC key points engaged community members, both newbies and experienced, to discuss and give feedback on the proposed drafts related to the Movement Strategy Initiative of Equity in Decision Making and some question was raised , eg how can we have equity in decision making and who used to be the decision maker before this strategy no one was very sure of the answers we all took this a homework for the next conversation since it was a community event sub session.

A 1-day one in person conversation covered an introduction on Movement Charter and the latest drafts, including Roles and Responsibilities, Global Council, Hubs, and Glossary.

Discussions included open questions on how Funding works , Structure, Membership, and the difference between hubs and affiliate. QNs Do we have a Hub hosting our community where is and how does work ? what could be my role in our Regional Hub? Implementation Team:

The dedicated team of Movement Charter Ambassadors for the event included: RebeccaRwanda: MCDC Ambassador, leading the project. Collaborators: Jaques Niyigena

contributing to project documentation and communication. and the Rwanda executive team was helping in discussions since they have an advanced understanding about MCDC but in person sessions only Challenges and Solutions:

Language Problems: Challenges about language in Rwanda is very complex and causes instability were faced during the conversation sessions, affecting participation. However, translation was made and other adjustments were made to accommodate a specific time that suited more participants. This MCDC Ambassador Program in Rwanda successfully fostered dialogue and community engagement around the Movement Charter, despite the challenges faced.

Announcement was made to call for the next Movement charter conversation which is supposed to take place at Muhazi Resort in Community retreat on 29th October 2023.https://diff.wikimedia.org/2023/12/08/mcdc-conversation-wikimedia-ug-rwanda/
