Bot's tasks for which permission is being sought: This bot services GLAMify tool requests in batch form. It is strictly read-only on all mainspaces, and only updates the GLAMify page and its sub-pages, all on my userspace.
Automatic or manually assisted: automatic, scheduled, on Tool Labs.
Edit type (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): every two hours, on userspace
Programming language(s): Ruby (using the mediawiki_api and dhole gems)

- @Ijon: Hi! So, if I understand correctly, the bot will just edit your userspace each two hours and nothing more (appart from reading a set of pages), right? If so, I am approving a trial of 30 edits, so we can check if the bot works fine, then if there's no objections I think we can approve it. -- M\A 19:34, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Correct, MarcoAurelio. The bot is the input/output arm of an image-suggester tool hosted on Tool Labs. The function of the tool is explained here, and you can look at sample outputs in the Results section there. It only ever writes to my userspace, and not even every two hours, but only when there are active requests for reports (which it checks every two hours). - Support. The bot seems to be very useful and Ijon is trusted. --Steinsplitter (talk) 21:25, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It is my impression that the bot task is quite uncontroversial and easy that, after reviewing the test run performed, I just saw one single issue which was quickly reverted by the botop. Further edits where fine. Plus Ijon is a trusted user and WMF employee for Grants. Per Meta:Requests for adminship rules on bot flags ("bot requests may be less formal and often go for a shorter duration if consensus becomes clear after only a few days of discussion"), given the simplicity of the tasks listed, I don't think it'd be of any benefit leaving this request opened for a month or even a week. As such it is hereby resolved that:
- Bot is approved for the tasks requested. If the bot purpose is expanded in the future, a new BRfA must be passed before.
- Bot is flagged as such.
I'll leave this request displayed on BRfA for a couple of days so if anyone has objections about the bot or my closure can raise them. -- M\A 14:27, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
