Meta:Requests for adminship/Kingboyk

I'm quite astonished that satisfying the criteria for adminship here, and having a good track record on one of our major wikis, isn't sufficient for a rubber stamping of an RFA candidacy. I'm also baffled by talk of a "culture" on this wiki - it's not a content-creating site nor a social space. That said, somebody who deserves respect asked me by email to withdraw because he or she felt muted, that they would have wished to oppose but don't want to prejudice the Board election. Since having buttons here is less than a big deal to me, and I only wanted to help out, I think it's best that I agree to that editor's request to withdraw. Cheers. --Kingboyk 10:51, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am an experienced admin on en (w:User:Kingboyk; diff proving account ownership). I'm spending a lot of time on meta at the moment fielding questions in the Board election. During this time, I've seen several counts of vandalism and so on which I've had to go and report on wiki or on IRC. It would be easier for me, and existing admins here, if I had the buttons so I could deal with these issues myself. I know how to use the tools and am trustworthy. Thanks. --Kingboyk 14:36, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- "fielding questions in the Board election" doesn't require sysop status, there aren't reasons for supporting his candidature (imho), but neither for opposing... neutral (several counts of vandalism???? where?!?)--Nick1915 - all you want 21:33, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Note: he said he found vandalism in need of admin attention while here to field questions, and realised he ought to be helping out here... he did not say that he needs admin here specifically in order to field the questions! Hope that clears that up... ++Lar: t/c 22:08, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- That's right Lar. I had to report one abusive account on wiki, and another on IRC; seemed to me I could have dealt with them myself as it's not rocket science. --Kingboyk 10:51, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Kingboyk has been editing here on and off since December 2005. Kingboyk is a trustworthy and hardworking contributor on en:wp and I have every reason to believe he will be the same here. I'm on wikibreak but I still have to Support this candidacy, he will be an asset here. ++Lar: t/c 22:08, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
