What is happening in Let’s Connect this month
edit- Welcome to the April issue of the Let’s Connect monthly newsletter. It has been a busy month! This month, we hosted 6 Learnings (🫨) and partnered with Creative Commons & Wiki Loves Living Heritage to host their “Ethics of Open Sharing” webinar.
- 🫵 We also presented Let’s Connect in the Wikimedia Foundation monthly staff meeting. Here is the video we put together to show some Let’s Connect voices! Here is the presentation we made. All these are a product of YOUR participation, kindness and openness to share and learn from each other.
- We also got accepted to lead a session on Let’s Connect during this month's EduWiki Conference in Belgrade from May 26 - 28, 2023. 🎓
We got invited by the AFLIA to present Let’s Connect during their Wikidata for African Librarians course on May 3. We presented how African Librarians can join Let’s Connect and take advantage of its peer learning opportunities.

editCatching up with the Movement Strategy Drafting Committee: MCDC members organised three community conversations, two open and one with Wikimedia Stewards. Here are the recordings. In July, the MCDC hopes to share crucial sections of the charter – such as those about the Global Council, hubs, and roles and responsibilities in the movement. You can explore a lot more on wiki.
Story from Let’s Connect
editOn 27th-29th May 2023, two Let’s Connect working group members, Jessica Stephenson and Chinmayee Mishra, attended WikiConference India and shared the works of the Let's Connect Team with the conference participants. The active participation across the globe, the relevance of Let’s Connect’s motto with the conference's theme, and the impact of this peer learning program were shared there.
The link to the presentation can be found here: Let's connect WCI 2023
Feedback from WCI participants :
Jnanaranjan Sahu (Wikimedian-India): I knew a little about the Let's Connect program before. Thanks to Chinmayee and Jessica for that wonderful session which brought great clarity regarding the program and its various aspects. It's an impactful idea, and I hope it can bring more Wikimedians to one place to learn and share skills, ultimately bringing more value to the whole community. You both were energetic, and the presentation was excellent. Hope to see you again soon.
I will definitely be a part of this program.
Anonymous Wikimedian from South Asia: The discussion about the Let's Connect peer learning program was impressive and enlightening during WCI. I was amazed by the spirit and energy Jessica and Chinmayee brought onto the stage and among the audience. The team is doing great work indeed, which is helpful for us in many ways in the movement. My best wishes to the team, and looking forward to many more learning clinics & program representations at other conferences.
