Coding of characters

Is there a list of characters and their corresponding codes? I notice that the code given for À is different than the code given here. E.g., the proper WikiMedia code is %C3%80, and the Unicode code is %C0. In particular I would like to know the proper code for the underscore character. Force underscores in page name

Is there a way to force page names so that underscores are not treated as spaces, and vise versa? I am trying to create and article with an underscore at the beginning of the page name. Thanks! 76.252.15.201 21:28, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Echo

It was brought to my attention that using certain words as page titles — such as Echo — causes my wiki to throw out a 406 error, stating that an acceptable representation of the page cannot be found. I've noticed however that page titles like that work on Wikipedia and the like, so I'm wondering if there's some sort of configuration setting or something that I should know about to remedy this problem. --Raenis 04:45, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Page name grammar

Is there an wp:en guidline on grammar in page names/titles? I notice that a lot of categories get renamed from "fooian foos" to "foos in foo" (or "Spanish cyclists" and "Cyclists from Spain") for example, and was wondering if a guideline along these lines exists for articles. How to deal BASEPAGENAME with “exotic” namespace

All is in the title : BASEPAGENAME dont work with “exotic” namespace. For example, on the wikisources there is index:, page:, and author: namespace. How can I get the pagename is this case ? Cdlt, VIGNERON * ^discut. 20:12, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

Titles with + simply don't work

I want to add article titles with C+ and C++ to our wiki. The wiki creates them, but then simply removes the + when the article is clicked on, it's almost like asome kind of generic redirect clitch takes place without specifying a redirect. How do I allow titles with + to work? I am running mediawiki 16. +

Slow to load

Question

If a page contains a character that later becomes invalid, does that mean the page can no longer be edited? Or does it just mean that no further pages can be created with that character? I'm leaning towards the former. Because I was able to create and edit images titled File:MediaWiki-Common.js.png on older versions of MediaWiki. But on newer versions, I was unable to do so. As a result, I was forced to rename the files to File:MediaWiki-Common-js.png. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 22:49, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
