Hablon User Group/MozillaPH Monthly Meetup, April 2020
The Hablon User Group (HUG) joined the April 2020 online meetup of Mozilla Philippines amidst the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before the meeetup began, a moment of silence was offered to the victims of the pandemic. The meetup lasted almost two hours that highlighted updates from Mozilla Philippines specifically the MozillaPH Localization (L10n) and Mozilla Common Voice project. It also featured lightning talks from guest speakers, discussing topics about Open Source or the Open Web.
Jojit Ballesteros of HUG gave a lightning talk about Creating an Offline Wikipedia Using a Raspberry Pi. The talk is basically instructions on making the Internet-in-a-Box (IIAB) from a pre-downloaded image, and downloading the zim file of Wikipedia through the web inteface of the IIAB. An actual Raspberry Pi single-board computer with IIAB installed was presented and then, Jojit demonstrated how to access the IIAB through a client device. After Jojit's talk, he and Bel Ballesteros answered the questions from the participants of the online meetup.
