Grants talk:TPS/kshehari/TEACHING TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING 4
Hi, Thank you for considering my request in advance. I just wanted to add that I have managed to secure funding to cover my accommodation from the School of Modern Languages and Cultures at Durham University. I will update the budget breakdown accordingly. --Kshehari (talk) 11:09, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
Request for additional information
editDear Kshehari, Thank you for your submission! We appreciate that you sought and were able to secure funding for your accommodation through the univerisity. In reviewing your request, the committee would like to request some clarification surrounding one of the goals mentioned for your presentation 'to share my experience and to collaborate with colleagues on improving it', but the data here indicate there were no students in this course. Would you please provide some information on the actual number of students and articles? -- Thank you, Jtud (WMF) (talk) 21:53, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
Reply with additional information
editDear Jtud (WMF), the page you referred to is not the real page of our project. It has been created as a trial but never been used since then. I have just deleted it now to avoid any ambiguity. The page of our project is here. There were 13 MA students made into 4 groups, each group translating one article. TFlangan-WMF may kindly shed more light on the project and help with Arabic content of the project's page. The next cycle of the project will look more specifically on how to improve commentary and feedback by using the "discussion" section of Wikipedia pages and how to improve the efficiency of feedback received from ambassadors. Thank you for considering my request. --Kshehari (talk) 07:46, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for sharing those links, Kshehari. @Jtud (WMF):, like the user explained briefly above, the student activity was actually tracked on the Arabic Wikipedia course page. This was a tricky logistical challenge, because the initial course page was set up on English Wikipedia, but it is not possible to track activity on a separate language Wikipedia using the education extension infrastructure. So, a course page was created in Arabic on the Arabic Wikipedia which lists the students and their articles. The original course page his here (in Arabic) with student assignments and sandboxes, and a new course page is here using the education extension which makes tracking metrics more automated. I've also been working with the professor to compile some impact stats like aggregate page views for his research and outreach. Hope that helps! Tighe (talk) 13:35, 22 September 2014 (UTC)

Request for changes
editDear Jtud (WMF) (talk), as I mentioned in the email, I would like to do the following changes if possible which would not affect the amount granted:
- Instead of booking flight from Newcastle, I like to book it from London and take a train from Newcastle to London.
- To change which item of the budget to be paid by my School. They didn't specify which item to pay for; they just granted me a fixed amount and I would like to make it open now and decide later which item to be paid by your grant and which items to be paid by their grant. As I said, this wouldn't affect the the amount you agreed to grant to me.
Thanks. --Kshehari (talk) 09:53, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
- Dear Kshehari, Thank you for publicly posting your request here. Both of your request for changes are approved. There is no change in the approved grant amount. Kindly update your submission page to reflect the approved changes. -- Best regards, Jtud (WMF) (talk) 21:02, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
