Feedback on your request edit

The organizers of the Creative Commons 2017 Global Summit have applied for funding from the Wikimedia Foundation through our Conference and Events Grants Program. If this event is awarded funding, it will be designated a Wikimedia-organized event and will not be eligible for funding support through the Travel and Participation Support Program. Consequently, we will not be making a decision on this request until a determination has been made in regard to the Conference Grants proposal. You are welcome to track decisionmaking on that request by watching the talkpage of the proposal.

Request not funded edit

Dear Mawulicherubim,

Thank you for this request and for your interest in promoting the use of creative commons among art students in tertiary schools across Ghana. We love this idea!

Unfortunately, the TPS program is designed to support outreach efforts by experienced Wikimedians who are spreading awareness about Wikimedia about non-Wikimedia events. Your participation request doesn't fall within criteria explained in the Travel and Participation Support page. Your contribution record is very low, and we would recommend that you continue to participate as a volunteer to gain more knowledge and understanding of how the Wikimedia movement works.

Since your goal is primarily your own learning about incorporating Wikimedia projects into educational projects, we believe there are much better ways for you to achieve that goal than attending the Creative Commons Summit. If you have not already done so, we recommend that you get in touch with Tighe Flanagan, Senior Manager, Wikipedia Education Program, who can point you to resources and help you make connections to support you in your learning.

We welcome future requests from you that may be a better fit and wish you all the best in your future work.

Thank you once again for your interest in this program.

Best regards, Marti (WMF) (talk) 17:01, 13 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
