Hello Analeighmarie,

Thank you again for your Rapid Grant submission. We're glad to see that Art+Feminism materials and involvement have inspired XFR Collective to contribute knowledge in topics involving media and female artists. Unfortunately, while this project would support WMF's mission, we will not this your request. From our understanding, this would be a closed event. In the future, we suggest outreach to a wider audience in addition to the members of your organization; connect with local experienced Wikipedians who'd be available to provide additional training and editing guidance; and identify them in your next grant request. We welcome support for new editors to contribute their expertise to Wikimedia projects, but we also want them to be well-equipped by those who are familiar with Wikipedia's sometimes complex policies and environment. We also recognize this is an important and relevant time to host an Art+Feminism event, but we typically do not fund one-off editathons as they are not as effective in achieving ongoing engagement among participants, unless demonstrated otherwise. Instead, we prefer a series so participants can attend multiple events and organizers can follow-up with them for longer-term impact. With this in mind, we would also like you to consider finding a venue that would allow for this at a more sustainable basis.

We are still very supportive of your group and your work, and hope this decision does not discourage you. Please feel free to reach us at any time to follow-up on these suggestions. Best, Morgan Jue (WMF) (talk) 00:44, 11 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
