Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Wikipedia edit-a-thons/trainings centered on Jamaican artists in Kingston, Jamaica./Report

Report accepted edit

Hi, Nikitag94, thank you for submitting this grant report. I have reviewed it and your expense documentation and have accepted both.

Congratulations on a successful grant! Here are some follow-up comments:

  • It is exciting to hear about how many participants, from individuals to institutions, were eager to continue working with Wikipedia after the events.
  • Your insights into regional travel (better to use travel funds to go to places outside Kingston for workshops, rather than reimburse people to come to you) are very valuable and will help both us and other grantees plan.
  • Thank you for thinking ahead and bringing a modem. Internet access can often be challenging and lack of it can put a damper on events. Bringing your own, or having a backup plan, is an excellent way to reduce that barrier.
  • Promotion and getting the word out is often challenging and we appreciate all the work you did to notify people of your event. Besides having more time, do you have any thoughts about what you would do differently in the future to promote events?

Please note that this grant will be closed once you decide what to do with the remaining funds. As discussed via email, if you would like to keep them to use for another grant, please submit a proposal by 28 February 2019. (Please note that this proposal would need to meet the $500 USD grant minimum, so you would need to request additional funds.) If you would prefer to return the funds, please follow these instructions for doing so.

Thank you for all your engagement throughout the grant and reporting process. We warmly welcome any further updates you would like to share, and hope to support your future endeavors.
