Hello Geugeor and Eugene233, thank you for submitting this Rapid Grant request. We are glad that the Wikimedia Community of Cameroon is joining the Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos contest. I have reviewed your proposal and have the following questions and requests:

  • Please reduce the number of T-shirts to around 5, offering them to the organizers and top participants only.
  • You have budgeted about 743 USD for prizes and 188 USD for T-shirts, which is higher from what we allow for this campaign. Please reduce the budgets for T-shirts and prizes, so that the total sum does not exceed 500 USD.
  • You have mentioned that you would use the ISA platform to monitor the participants’ contributions. Could you please elaborate on this platform and provide a link to it?

Looking forward to your response! Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:45, 19 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello DSaroyan (WMF) (talk), as you noticed I made the changes. Regarding the selection, while Eugene233 is working on developing a script, we will rather proceed manually to check the contributions of users (20) from their usernames.

Thank you. --Geugeor Georges (talk) 10:27, 19 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello DSaroyan (WMF), I just want to point out that we have created a hashtag for the Cameroon community here. @Geugeor: you do not need to do it manually or develop a new script. All the participants from your community need to do is to add the hashtag #WPWP and #WPWPCM to edit summary of all articles improved with photos, it automatically tracks the metrics for your community. This hashtag will track the following metrics:
  1. The total number of articles improved,
  2. The list of articles improved,
  3. The total number of participants from your community
  4. Ranking of participants in descending order based on the number of images used on articles
  5. The total number of language Wikipedias improved.

You can monitor the participants and the progress of the campaign in your community with the hashtag.

I hope this help DSarovan. With kind regards. T CellsTalk 16:03, 19 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Geugeor, thanks for making the requested changes! Could you please update the probox so that it reflects the updated requested amount? '
Hello T Cells and thanks for the detailed explanation. It is now clear to me how the communities will measure the participants' contributions. Have you communicated this method to all communities? I am asking this since I noticed that the Zambian community intended to use the Outreach Dashboard to monitor the contributions as well. I have linked your guidance in my response to them on the discussion page, so that they will be aware of this easier way to track the contributions. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 06:54, 22 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the ping DSaroyan. We have communicated the hashtags to all participating communities. And thanks for linking my feedback there. I commented there as well. In addition to the general hashtag (#WPWP), we have configured hashtags for communities that have requested to use a separate hashtag to track metrics from their community. See the list here.
