Hello Wikimedia Nigeria, thanks again for submitting this Rapid Grant application. We commend on your efforts of running the Wiki Loves Africa contest in Nigeria, with actively engaging the Fan Clubs in different cities of the country. I have reviewed this submission and have some questions and requests:

  • Could you please announce this project on your relevant community pages of Wikimedia Projects (Wikipedia, Meta-Wiki, etc.) and add at least one link into the proposal? We currently require all projects to be announced on the community pages of Wikimedia Projects before moving forward with the grant requests.

  • Are you planning any in-person gatherings? If yes, could you please follow the Risk assessment protocol? Otherwise, mention in the proposal that there’ll be no such gatherings.

  • In the grant proposal, would you also add some targets for the contributions on Wikipedia?
100 images will be used on Wikipedia.   Done
  • How many new editors are you planning to engage? In the Impact section, please add this target too  Done.
  • Budget:
    • Printings= 150 (Flyers, Graphics design,shirts for organizers and other merchandise to promote the event) - please split this expense and provide a more detailed breakdown  Done.
    • Main Prizes= 407.5 ( Prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners) - limit this expense to 350 USD. It is the maximum amount we allow for WLA prizes.  Done
    • Photo Hunt, Uploads and Editathon= 188.95 USD - provide a breakdown regarding the items this expense will cover   Done per instruction. .
    • Please update the total requested budget in the probox after making the requested changes   Done per instruction.

Request of extension to 15th April 2021 edit

Dear @DSaroyan (WMF):, contrary to the contract term of our grant application ( WLA 2021) proposed for 15th February to 15th March 2021, the event was designed to run between 15th February-15th April 2021.
