editHello Fawaz.tairou, thanks for submitting this grant request. We are excited that Wikimédiens du Bénin User Group is also joining the Afrocine contest. I have reviewed your proposal and have the following questions:
- Are you planning to have a local jury aside from the international one? If yes, who will be selected as jury members and how will they evaluate the results?
- In the Impact section you have mentioned that you would expect to have 20 participants and organize 6 online events. Does this mean that you expect to have in average only 3 participants per event (20/3) including the organizers? Could you please revise your numbers or otherwise explain them?
Budget:
- Why do you request costs for 2 months of Internet for organizers?
- Why do you request costs for 5 t-shirts, if the number of organizers is 3?
- What kind of prizes do you plan to award the contest winners?
- The Internet access costs for jury members are 27 USD per person, while the same costs for the team members are 44 USD. Could you please explain this discrepancy?
I’ll look forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 12:57, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
- Dear DSaroyan (WMF)
- Thanks for your review. Please find our answers below.
- Yes, we are planning to have a local jury aside from the international one. We will choose 4 experienced Wikimedians and they will evaluate the results according to the rules of international contest.
- We'd expect to have 20 participants and organize 6 online events, with 10 repeat participants at least. As the contest is about article writing, we plan to have some attendees to more than one event, in order to help them to improve their articles, more and more during the events, giving them opportunity to work during the time between two events and come back with questions and suggestions at following events. The goal is to have good quality articles in the end.
- We request costs for 2 months of Internet for organizers because the contest time is more than one month, and the jury work time after the contest will take time too.
- We request cost for 5 t-shirts because we have two wikimedians members of our user group as support (those we call staff) during the contest.
- The prizes will be gift cards.
- The internet access costs are for 4G internet access. We have different kinds of 4G access. So as the jury work in just for half month, they don't need the same access type as the team members.
- In hope we had given suitable explanations to you, we stay available to make all changes you'll suggest.
- Best regards
