Hi Mompati Dikunwane, thanks for submitting this Rapid Grant request. I reviewed it and have the following questions:

  • Who will lead the training and what will be the training schedule? Do you have someone in your community who is well equipped to lead a training about Wikimedia Commons?
  • How will you reach out to potential participants? What communication channels will you be using?
  • If your plan is to train participants on how to upload images to Wikimedia Commons, why do you have a specific target for the number of created or improved articles?
  • How many times do you plan to offer food to participants? Could you please provide more details on what includes 30 USD per person? I’m asking this because it seems that this expense is too high for Botswana.
  • Please confirm that you don’t plan to purchase the internet modems and laptops.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 09:26, 19 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Response to WMF edit

Hi DSaroyan (WMF), I will lead the training session with the help from creative commons leader Kayusyussuf with his good experience on Wikimedia commons.

I will reach out to potential participants via Wikimedia Community User Group Facebook page, and posted it also on the group meta page.

link:https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=942442449243813&ref=content_filter.

Our main focus will be Wikimedia commons, therefore we will create as many as possible, and utilize photos/ uploaded photos in stubs that need them.

Davit 30 usd is enough to cover for snack packs and drinks per participant the entire day but I have reduced it.

I want to confirm that I do not intend to purchase any laptop or modem, we intend to hire. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mompati Dikunwane (talk)

HiMompati Dikunwane, thanks for your response, I have some additional questions:
  • If your main focus is Wikimedia Commons, could you please add a specific target for the uploaded images and edited pages on Wikimedia Commons?
  • After the price reduction, do you still plan to offer participants snacks for the entire day?
  • In the targets you mentioned that you wouldn't have any repeat participants. If you plan to have one upload session-training and one edit-a-thon online, how come you won't have any repeat participants?
Thanks, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 13:48, 22 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi DSaroyan (WMF), participants will be provided with food and drinks for the day.

I have fixed the error here and added the repeat participants to the section. Please note that I have added the target (culture and food). We will upload images related to culture and cuisine on Wikimedia commons.

Kind regards Mompati Dikunwane
