@I JethroBT (WMF): Have you had a chance to review this proposal? I sent the original noficiation email on 2/2. It's unclear to me how far down the queue it currently is, since I don't know where I can find an up-to-date list of proposals. Thank you, Strainu (talk) 19:55, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Strainu: Thanks for your proposal for these technical activities supporting the Romanian community. We have consulted with some technical teams at the Foundation, who had the following feedback and have recommended funding:

  • Regarding the future use of ORES, technical teams have let us know that while ORES is the production tool that is currently supported, a new stack will be ready to completely replace ORES within the next year. There isn't documentation around it currently, but there will be more information available able this very soon. Theoretically, a reverting tool could use ORES for the time being, and then switch to a new API later, as the ORES models will be ported so as to not change their overall functionality.
  • If you have questions or need clarification about these developments, please contact staff at mw:Machine_Learning#Work_with_us.

Thank you I JethroBT (WMF), I'll make sure to contact them in the following weeks so we are in sync over the time-line. If it doesn't match the project deadline, I'll just have to properly isolate the API calls so they can be replaced with minimum effort. Strainu (talk) 00:31, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
