Hello Rhizomesandranch and SallyDWV, I'm Chris Schilling, a program officer managing the Rapid Grants program. Thanks for your request to support the Amplifying Appalachia Edit-a-thon at WVU. We appreciate your participation in the Art+Feminism campaign! Here are my comments and questions:

  • We normally try to support prize budgets in a manner that is proportional to expected participation, but unfortunately, we will not be able to support a prize budget of this size. The main reason for this is that we cannot equitably or sustainably support rewarding all event participants in this way across grant-funded activities. We would be willing support a prize budget of $400 USD, along with any additional activation fees that may be needed.
    Thank you so much!
  • Given that there is a need to complete a post-event survey, would it be possible to prompt or ask participants to do this during the multiday event itself or during a closing session?
    Absolutely!
  • Would you be able to provide the usernames of six editors who are leading the event? We ask this because we review the contribution history and edits of trainers or event leaders to verify their experience using and contributing to Wikimedia projects.
Rhizomesandranch, KjessJKT, Uterodactyl, MakenzieHudson, Fiskelemon, Soyboyhood, BethJaneToren, SallyDWV
  • We now require all grantees to announce their projects and provide an opportunity for community feedback in advance, before a funding decision is made. Could you please announce this project and grant on the relevant community pages on the target wikis? Community notification may be most appropriate on a village pump, talk page, or mailing list. Please paste a link into the proposal page to where the relevant communities have been notified of this proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions. One suggestion I have, if you would like to invite local Wikimedians to participate, is to write a brief invitation on the discussion page for WikiProject West Virginia. Another possibility could be WikiProject LGBT studies.
    OK!

Please let me know if you have any questions or clarifications. I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 08:01, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Rhizomesandranch and SallyDWV: Thanks for your responses. Could you update the proposal to reflect changes to the budget as well as provide links to pages where you have notified relevant communities about your proposal? Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 20:48, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
