Hi Onix228, I'm Chris Schilling, a community organizer with the Wikimedia Foundation. This is the first grant proposal we've received from Gambia, so thank you very much for preparing it and for working to bring students and academic staff together in your country to teach about Wikimedia projects. I've reviewed your proposal, and I have a few logistical questions before approving this request:

  • If this grant is approved, can you confirm whether the funding will be sent to a group or to a person? If it's a group, a joint or multi-user bank account is needed. If it's being sent to a person, up to four people can sign together, but a personal account must be available for one of the signers to receive the grant funds.
  • Funds sent to Gambia have to be sent in USD. Can the bank recieving the funds accept wires in this currency?

Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 21:59, 21 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello I JethroBT (WMF), thanks for reaching out with these concerns and I apologise for not seeing them early. I was hoping to get a notification once a message was put out there. Please find answers to your questions below:
  • I will be using my account in the meantime with hopes that after this meeting we can create a group account and add some more volunteers to promote transparency.
  • I am confirming that funds can be sent in the suggested currency to my country and bank.
