Hello DSaroyan (WMF) and Naomi Moeng, i just wanted to add this other important stubs abut notable people in Botswana, i think it might be as well interesting to add them to the target number of articles you want to improve, how is that? Just a recommendation thoughǃ see link belowː

List of Stub Articles for improvement

Most of the articles i shared with you Naomi Moeng do not have pictures, they lack template info-boxes, so i will be happy to join on this topic.

Regards

Comments from WMF edit

Hello Naomi Moeng, thanks for submitting this Rapid Grant request. As you already have an experienced editor who will support you during the online edit-a-thons, I am happy to review your application and pose questions that I have after reviewing:

  • In your proposal, please also list the articles of Tswa Wikipedia that you plan to create or improve during your events.
  • Please consider using the Outreach Dashboard to track the contributions of the participants. You can also use the Training section of the Outreach Dashboard to learn more about how to plan and carry out edit-a-thons.
  • As Mompati will support you throughout the event, please include his name in the proposal page. Dear Mompati, thanks again for supporting Naomi!
  • If needed, please extend the terms of your project, also including days when you will make any expenses.

Budget:

  • Online meet-ups: What expenses will 300 USD (budget item #1) cover during discussions and meetings?
  • Internet data connection: Costs of how many participants does this expense intend to cover?
  • Swags: Provide more details about swags; what types and how many units are you planning to hand out?
  • Social media advertising: Which social media platforms will you target?

I’m looking forward to your responses! Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 09:55, 24 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi DSaroyan (WMF), internet data will be as follows; 116.67$ for a day for 12 people (an estimate of people who might require it) making it 116.67$ by 3 days = 350$.

We Will consider using telegram, and thank yu for proposing the outreach dash board, will have a look at it.

The budget for swag includes the couriering budget, means in which swag can reach the participants due to this global pandemic (no in person/group meet-ups). We plan to issue out 20 external drives($12 each x 20=$240 ), 20 caps x 8 = 160 and courier= $100, Totaling to $500.

Thank you!

Additional comments from WMF edit

Hello Naomi Moeng, thank you for your responses, I have additional comments:

  • Online meet-ups (budget #1): It is unclear to me why you need 20 units of Internet expenses for planning meetups, when you are organizing this contest alone. If it is for a post-event evaluation meeting, why do you need Internet for 20 participants? Moreover, the Internet price mentioned in budget item #2 (Internet data connection) is completely different from #1. Please remove budget #1 or provide a more detailed explanation on why you need this cost.
  • For all you budget items, please include details in the proposal page in this format: price for a unit x number of units x number of participants.
  • Please reduce the swag budget limiting the number of hard drives to 5 maximum, and offering them only participants with exceptional contributions.
  • Update the budget both in the Finances section and probox after making the requested changes to the budget.
  • Please add the list of articles to the proposal page.

Thank you, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:18, 27 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
