Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Bukky658/Wikidata for Libraries and Librarians in Nigeria
Comments from DSaroyan (WMF)
editHello Bukky658, thanks for submitting this Rapid Fund request. We are glad that you are planning to work with different libraries and librarians of Nigeria. I have a few questions and requests after reviewing the proposal:
- Please share the Risk Assessment tool document, so that it is accessible to everyone through the link.
- Have you already reached out to any library in Nigeria to invite them to participate in this project? Have they confirmed their participation? Have you discussed this project with them in advance?
- How do you plan to track the participants' contributions? Please consider using the Outreach Dashboard to track the contributions of the participants. You can also use the Training section of the Outreach Dashboard to learn more about how to plan and carry out edit-a-thons.
- Will you prepare any list of suggested articles/items for the events? Also, do you plan to create a project page?
- Please offer Branded souvenirs only to organisers and those participants who are not in the top. Please update the budget accordingly.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 15:36, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
Response from Bukky658 (Project Lead)
editThanks for the reviews. I just made some necessary corrections on the proposal.
- I have changed the settings for the Risk Assessment so that everyone can access it.
- I have already reached out to Nigerian library Association Kwara State Chapter; the National Library of Nigeria Kwara State Branch; Public Libraries, e.g. Kwara State Library Board; Special Libraries e.g. Micheal Imodu Institute of Labour Studies; Research Libraries e.g. Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute, National Centre for Agriculture Mechanization; University, Polytechnic, and Monotechnic Libraries within and outside Kwara State to invite them to participate in this project and they confirmed their participation. I have also discussed this project with them in advance at the recently concluded WIKIGLAM Awareness for Librarians in Kwara State.
- I plan to track the participants' contributions using the Outreach Dashboard.
- I will prepare a list of suggested libraries and notable librarians using the mailing list of libraries and a nominal list of practising librarians in Nigeria published by the National Library of Nigeria for participants to work on for this project.
- As stated on the grant page, only participants and organisers at the pyhsical events will receive branded souvenirs. I do not understand what you meant by "excluding the TOP and reviewing the budget accordingly" I'll like you to further expatiate on this.
Thanks Bukky658 (talk) 20:52, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hello Bukky658, thanks so much for your response.
- I'm sorry for not being clear in my request about the souvenirs. I understand that only the event organizers and participants will receive the souvenirs. My request is to exclude top contributors from this list because you already have gift vouchers for them. So, top contributors will only receive gift vouchers and others will receive souvenirs. Does it make sense to you?
- Thanks, --DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 11:04, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the further clarifications DSaroyan (WMF), I have made the necessary corrections and adjust on the budget. Bukky658 (talk) 14:36, 21 September 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for responding to my earlier extension request so quickly. Please allow me to request another end date (extension) from November 30th to December 11th. My project funds arrived yesterday. I'm requesting another extension because I'd like to fully arrange and ensure that all supplies required for the physical events are readily available for participants before the events.
