Hello, EricaAzzellini; thank you for submitting your grant proposal and for your patience with the delay in our review process. We have now taken a look at it, as well as at the materials from past Wikidata Lab editions. We have the following questions:

1. How do you plan to recruit new participants for Wikidata Labs? Even though the goal is only two new editors, Wikidata recruitment efforts need more specialized work than general editathons. You mention strategic dissemination of posters and we would like to have more details about this.
2. I would like to press a little in thinking about the impact of the event, beyond numbers of events and participants. After all, it is a Wikidata initiative! Can you think of other goals to set? You can find a little bit of inspiration in the Metrics page, or on the report of Wikidata proposal that was funded in the past.

Hi, MMontes (WMF)! Thanks for your inputs, they are valuable for a better development of this proposal.

1 - In order to try to attract editors with specific technical skills and directed to Wikidata, our strategy is to focus the announcements of the event in colleges and institutes related to the areas of each Wikidata Lab, so that the new participants, although never edited on Wikidata, may have a rather short / quick learning curve. Our "edit-a-thons" promoted inside each Wikidata programme, usually during the afternoon, are not merely marathons of data insertion in the project, but rather a hands-on part of technical (and often complex) aspects that were addressed in the event in the Morning of the same day. So we are talking about "edit-a-thons" that are actually tasks of data scraping, creating modules of structured narratives, and a myriad of other topics that put us at the forefront of events related to the Wikidata project on a global scale. 2 - The impact is pronounced due to the focus of the Wikidata in automating processes of insertion and curation of the data. So we came back to the idea that more than just editing marathons, Wikidata Lab's activities are a joint effort to teach editors the use of complex tools like QuickStatement or our MBabel. Once the participants have the opportunity to learn these tools and its possibilities, they often use these resources on their personal and institutional projects, which helps disseminate Wikidata through other initiatives. Also, it helps foment a local community that addresses general Wikidata issues and that is willing to collaborate with wikidatans from all over the world.
