 | We want to remind all participants on this discussion page that the Community Resources and Research Fund teams have specific expectations regarding discussion about proposals in this space. In the Community Resources team's behavioral expectations for this space, anyone with concerns about a proposal is welcome to express them in a constructive and supportive manner. 1. In what ways do you think this research can support you or other members of the Wikimedia communities in the work that you do on the Wikimedia projects?
- I am aware that Universities and polytechnics in NIgeria continues to discourage the use of Wikipedia for student research and I do not know why. When I encouraged my daughter to join the movement and use information from Wikipedia in her assignments, she told me that her lecturer will not allow that. it is therefore very good to find out how this can be changed. I also agree that because Nigeria has high youth population, if Wikipedia is encouraged in higher institutions, it will be a very effective way of introducing Wikipedia to a high percentage of the population

- Whatever is the reason why higher institutions do not allow the use of Wikipedia for research, I advise that involving and convincing the Academic Staff Unions of Universities will be an effective way to turn around the situation. I therefore suggest that their leadership should be visited both in the meetings and in the survey and they should be urged to support this effort.

- I think that the team have sufficient experience from both the academic and administrative fields to find the solution to this problem. I support

This research will help us understand why Wikipedia is not acceptable in the Nigerian educational community. But using the languages to understand the use of Wikipedia might not achieve the desired result because in Nigeria, they don't use our native language to teach. English is the main language that is generally acceptable in Nigeria. 2. What advice do you have for the authors to improve their research or the impact of their research? They should focus more on why it isn't used without involving the languages. The education community will benefit a lot from it. 3. Please share any other feedback about this proposal that you think the Research Fund Committee should consider below.
- It is a welcome proposal if the focus is on the why we don't use Wikipedia in the Nigerian educational community
