Endorsment from CapitainAfrika (talk) edit

Cordialement, Papischou (talk) 10:59, 25 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Endorsment from VALENTIN NVJ (talk) edit

Comments from MEA regional funds staff edit

Hi BamLifa, thank you for submitting your grant application. After reviewing your grant proposal, we have some questions and requests:

  • We think that the proposed application is incomplete. We request that you provide more details about the activities that you plan to run and partnerships you would establish in terms of this project. Please go through the application and complete your responses with more details.
  • Given the project impact described in the metrics section, we think that the requested amount is high. The maximum amount we'll be funding for this project is 2,500 USD. Please adjust the budget accordingly.
  • This application has been submitted by a User Group leader or main contact. It involves other leaders/main contacts of the User Group. Activities highlighted in the application are matching User Group's goals. We want to highlight that this will be the last similar grant request that we will process from Wikimedians of DRC leaders / main contacts in their individual capacity. In the future, all similar requests should be submitted on behalf of Wikimedians of DRC. We are eager to learn more about the difficulties to apply on behalf of the User Group. Please communicate this decision to other in the leadership.

Please make indicated changes on Fluxx. Please log in to the Grantee Portal and you will see your application in the 'Proposals need attention' section. Please edit and re-submit your application by August 29, 2022.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for your time, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 14:43, 22 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi DSaroyan (WMF), sorry for the delay. This is my first time to use Fluxx, so I didn't really understand how to fill information in. I did take a little time to figure out how it works. I have now updated the project with all details you need. I'd suggest that you reconsider your decision concerning the budget as this is a 3-month-long project that target at least 150 participants (directly and indirectly). Many thanks in advance for your time re-reviwing my project and for your understanding. --BamLifa (talk) 06:21, 17 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Comments from MEA regional funds staff (second review) edit

Hi BamLifa, thank you for submitting new updates to your application. After reviewing your grant proposal, we have some questions to learn more about the project and planned activities.

  • In the past, your User Group has organized similar activities where you collaborated with different associations. We'd like to learn how this project is different from the projects in the past. What will you do differently this time?
  • Additionally, are there any associations with which you are currently working? Are you in touch with anyone from your last projects who'll be involved this time?
  • If we understand correctly, the mentors will also be the main trainers. However, in your budget you have separate internet budget for trainers and mentors. Would you please clarify this?
  • Please confirm that all equipment purchased will stay at the User Group and used by other User Group members.
  • Regarding the budget, we have one request. Given the project scope, please reduce the prize budget to 500 USD. That is the maximum amount we'll be funding for the prize budget of this project. Please make this change on Fluxx and update the requested amount. Log in to the Grantee Portal and you will see your application in the 'Proposals need attention' section. Edit and re-submit your application by January 26, 2022.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for your time, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 09:24, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi @DSaroyan (WMF),
Thank you so much for your questions. Find below my answers.
- As a UG, yes we did organize such activities, but it was only in one province (state). It helped us to be in contact with "Division provinciale de la Jeunesse - Tshopo" and gain some contributors who joined the UG. One of them is a leader of our UG in another province. Now, this project is about expending the experience in so many states as we now exist in more than 5 cities of the country. This project will also help us reach out other cities where we normally don't run activities. We are working hard in order to be well-known in the country wide and non profit organizations are good fit for us.
- We are already in touch with some of them, but we'll be getting in touch with many of them when we'll launch the project. We know some from Kisangani, Goma, Lubumbashi and Kinshasa. But we'll get to know better about their availability when we launch the project.
- In fact, yes. But the periods of activities are different. Mentoring sessions come after the training.
- Yes.
- I tried my best, @DSaroyan (WMF), but it was difficult for me to reach that number. I went from 900 to 685. I think it's ok like this given that we don't have so many contributors in our country, and we'd like to encourage people to contribute. I beg you! BamLifa (talk) 13:32, 22 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

New end date edit

Hey DSaroyan (WMF),

I'm writing to let you know that we still need time to end the project. These are reasons for that:

  • we did receive the fund more than one month after the start date
  • one of the team got an accident, and is prohibited to use phones, computers...

The new end date we request is July 23. Thank you! BamLifa (talk) 04:15, 1 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello BamLifa, thanks for posting your request. I have reviewed and formally approved it. The new grant end date is July 23, 2023, and the final report is due on August 23, 2023. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 12:32, 8 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
