Invalid Claims Awwerl (talk) 11:08, 10 December 2022 (UTC) edit

I think this proposal contain invalid claims that needs to be highlighed. First, the claim that in an educational institution of higher learning, lecturers do not believe with the information sourced in Wikipedia is highly fallacious. Secondly, the saying that no Wikipedia activities take place in the said institution and or the environment is also not true. I participated in the the similar event that happen in that institution and I know there is so many people who are from that college and they are continue editing Wikipedia. Not funded edit

Hello El-hussain14, thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After a thorough review of your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request. Here is the main reason for our decision:

  • Duplication of efforts: This project duplicates efforts that have already been organized at the same institution.

In the past three Rapid Fund cycles, this is the second time we have declined funding based on similar feedback. Please take the time to incorporate the feedback given. In order to give you the time needed and to provide clarity around the requirements, you will not be eligible to apply for a Rapid Fund until Cycle 9, May 5th, and you must attend an office hour with the Program Officer in your region. You can find the schedule of the conversation hours here.

Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:16, 21 December 2022 (UTC) (on behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team)Reply
