Not funded edit

Hello Yusuf Sa'adu,

Thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After a thorough review of your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request. Here are the main reasons for our decision:

  • There are sustainability risks regarding this project. All team members are residents of another state while the activities are planned to take place in Azari State. We have concerns that the project will not be sustainable. We recommend that similar activities are organized by local active community members.
  • It's unclear how the applicant plans to partner with the educational institutions.
  • The project budget is not aligned with the impact. As we mentioned above, we see significant risks regarding organizing an awareness project far from where participants are located, also given that there is no clear retention plan present.

Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 11:12, 21 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
