I really Support this project edit

Gwanki is a professional editor who has long contributed to Wikipedia especially Hausa Wikipedia, getting people like him to do this work is very important especially considering how he has run some important Projects in the past. I support this project because it will definitely help raise awareness and provide more researchers and readers of Wikipedia. Yusuf Sa'adu (talk) 21:25, 3 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Comments from the MEA regional committee and staff edit

Hi Gwanki, thank you for submitting your grant application. We have reviewed your grant application and we will be glad to support it. We have the following comments in order to move forward:

  • The proposal is clear and coherent in terms of the change it wants to make. We appreciate your willingness to raise awareness, train and recruit new editors at the Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano.
  • Thanks for putting together a detailed grant application with an aligned budget. Please note that we've updated the amount requested in USD based on the budget.
  • You mentioned that you wouldn't have any external partners. However, do you collaborate with Yusuf Maitama University to organize this project? Are you in touch with them? How do you plan to build a partnership with the university staff?

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for your time, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 05:29, 15 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi @DSaroyan (WMF) thanks for reviewing my grant proposal and here is my response.
  • At first I got advice on running this project from some University's students, but later I contacted some of the Academic Staff and they supported me. Among them is a lecture in the Hausa department with which we discuss the current state of the project. I'm InTouch with them both some students and staff.
  • There is a good relationship between me and some of the Staff, with the cooperation of some Academic Staff and with their help we will carry out the projects from the first day until the completion. If the project is approved we will write a letter to the University Board of Trustees for official approval of the project, although so far some of the students and staff are familiar with the project, so we have no problem with this.
  • And then I need to make some changes in the grant budget, is that possible?

Thanks —Gwanki 01:02, 16 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
