Endorsement from Meritkosy for Wikimedia awareness in ABTU

edit

I am very happy to endorse this project which is set to pave the way for Wikipedia's acceptance and integration into academic activities in Bauchi state. By targeting the academic community of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, this project has the potential to empower students and staff with the skills and knowledge to harness the power of Wikipedia. This initiative will not only promote digital literacy but also contribute to the growth of free and accessible knowledge in the region. I believe this project will have a lasting impact. Therefore, as a trainer, I will be there to ensure the success of the project. Meritkosy (talk) 14:50, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Endorsement

edit

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, a prominent institution in Northeastern Nigeria, is home to vibrant and dedicated students who could significantly contribute to open knowledge. I have long believed that establishing a Wikimedia Community at this university would be highly beneficial. However, my efforts have been limited by not being a member of the university or the surrounding community, which has posed significant challenges.

Also, I have worked with the project lead,@Ojewuyib and I can attest to her proficiency in programmes organisation, Wikimedia Policies adherence and Wikimedia projects editing.

Also, I am going to offer my support during the online training to further ensure the success of the project. I wish her the best of luck. Ibjaja055 (talk) 22:22, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Rapid Fund Request : Not Funded

edit

Thank you for submitting your application. After a thorough review of your proposal, we have made a decision not to fund your proposal. See the notes speaking to the rationale of the decision below;

  • The project focuses on awareness creation and given the approach shared, it is unclear how the impact proposed aligns with the resources requested. Seeing that the university supports the initiative is useful and can be leveraged for access to resources such as space and a student body - which are the main resources you need.
  • For data support to enable the training, you can apply to the Nigeria UG grant program.

Thank you. VThamaini (WMF) (talk) 17:33, 5 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
