Not funded edit

Hello Kingaustin07, thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After reviewing your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request. Here is the main reasons for our decision:

  • Because you are currently a member of the Wiki Fan Club at the University of Ilorin, we advise that in future, you reach out to the Wikimedia Use Group Nigeria to support projects such as these and also seek funding through the micro-grant program of Wikimedia Nigeria User Group.

We would also like to provide you with some feedback regarding the proposal and project plan to strengthen the proposal and increase the chances of its success if you apply for a grant in the future.

  • The proposal mentions building on research, but we would appreciate seeing more documented evidence to support this claim, particularly since the project aims to increase participation in specific languages on a wiki project. Seeing more research would help us better understand the proposal's potential impact.
  • The proposal mentions an in-person session, but it would be helpful to have more information about the location of this event. Without that information, it's difficult to accurately assess whether the budget estimates are adequate for this project.
  • With respect to the budget, we recommend ensuring that the budget is structured correctly and there is a better alignment between proposed activities and budget.

Best regards, (On behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team) YPam (WMF) (talk) 13:40, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
