Missing Information on the Page edit

Hello, I'm Egezort, the publisher of this project. It's come to my attention that some things that I've submitted aren't visible on the main page. I'm writing this to say:

The country that this project is from is Turkey.

The Budget spreadsheet can be reached through https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQsQjph40HEIXkeE7IkADV-Ibg-9zQjtAOrZqcRKhuETP8hzoQ4nyRaPqMj8l0ZBgTEju9Ak7qrzpdg/pubhtml?gid=0&single=true

Endorsement edit

  • I endorse this proposal because this experience may help people learn from each other in developing an unbiased language in covering biographies of people who were discriminated and it is a good attempt to connect different organisations. --Basak (talk) 22:50, 6 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Comments from I JethroBT (WMF) edit

Hello Egezort, and thanks for your proposal to build upon the work of the Curious Steps Project. I am approving the proposal for funding with the following comments:

  • It's really interesting to see that you're taking an approach to specifically build featured article content for Turkish Wikipedia, and being able to showcase some very high quality article content can be a fantastic outcome. However, this work requires a high level of investment for editors, both on the writing and peer reviewing side. Can you tell me a little about how the editorial process works for featured articles on Turkish Wikipedia? Have you or others on your team had some experience working on these kinds of articles in the past?
  • Thanks for linking to the Curious Steps walk, it was interesting to see how the stories of women artists are documented and taught to participants in this program.
  • It's also great to see that Curious Steps is willing to support your project with some reference materials and sources to support the edit-a-thon. Thanks very much for seeking support from a partner organization. to help prepare for your activities.

Thanks very much for your proposal, and let me know if you need any support or have questions about your Rapid Fund. I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 06:25, 8 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, thank you very much for your interest in this project :>
I must admit that I don't know about the editorial process for featured articles. Neither me nor anyone else in my team have ever created such an article. I have a general idea of how extensive featured articles are and I thought that creating 3 would be possible, at the very least a reasonable goal to try to reach even if we fail to create 3 of them. However, I know that some people who are experienced in creating featured articles will be coming to the edit-a-thon type activity we'll be doing afterwards. Some of these experienced contributors have expressed interest in this walk in our WikiTuesday meetings and in private conversations. So I have hope in them to help turn these articles into featured articles.
I don't have any questions about the Rapid Fund yet, but I'll be sure to ask. Thank you again for the feedback. Egezort (talk) 10:54, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello I JethroBT,
I'm writing this as a request for an extension for this project until the 1st of July. Turkey is currently involved in a political
situation that leads our team to be concerned about risks of political violence and terrorism. Some embassies have published alerts about this. (such as the US embassy, https://tr.usembassy.gov/security-alert-u-s-mission-turkey-2/)
There is a very important election coming up on the 14th of May. According to the results, there may be a run-off election on the 28th of May. Election cycles tend to be particularly dangerous in Turkey and we have decided that doing a walk in a public area until then would be risky.
We conducted our online meeting on the 1st of February, we're planning to do 2-3 more of these online meetings until June so that the project doesn't halt until then. We're planning to do the physical walk in early June, after the elections will have been concluded.
Can you help me with the procedure needed to extend the project? Thank you in advance.

Extension Request edit

I have written a request for extension about the funds for this project. I have written also to the necessary email addresses but have received no reply yet. What should I do? Egezort (talk) 22:50, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
