Feedback from Middle East and Africa Regional Funds team edit

Hello Lomoraronad,

  • Who will support you with Wikimedia Commons related questions or run the training sessions? We request that you have someone in the team who is experienced with Wikimedia Commons.
  • We request that you provide a detailed budget which should be clearly connected to the activity session. Please make the changes to the budget file and make it more comprehensive.
  • Please provide the list of monuments you plan to focus on. If there is no list available, how will you guide participants which objects to photograph?
  • We also request more details about the selection process. How and who will select winners of the local contest?

Funded edit

Hello Lomoraronald, thanks for providing a more detailed budget breakdown. However, the details that you provided are not sufficient.

  • We think that some prices are not aligned with local prices in South Sudan. They seem high and not aligned with the project impact as well.
  • Organizing 4 in-person events for the WLM campaign, also given the overall impact, does not seem viable.
  • We don't think that some expenses are needed to organize a local Wiki Loves Monuments campaign.
  • There are some minor discrepancies in the budget.

Given these details, we are recommending this grant for funding in the amount of 1,900 USD.

  • You are required to reduce the project scope to 2 events only.
  • You are required to reduce the expenses, including the prize budget. Please make changes to the budget file accordingly.

For your future grant request:

  • We require that you provide a detailed budget breakdown when submitting a new grant request. Every expense should be a new row.
  • We require that the prices in the proposed budget are aligned with your local prices. They also need to be aligned with the activity plan on the application.
  • I sent back the Wiki Loves Women 2022 in South Sudan application for updates. Please note that if you do not follow these requirements, we will not fund your request.

I have sent this notice via email too. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 08:49, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
