I am aware that there are many young boys and girls who are in different study centres and who are very much used to the online space. i believe that it will be good to start capturing them young. so I agree with a proposal that want to create an opportunity for this set of people to join the WMF family. this is a good idea. I also see a lot of enthusiasm from this applicant. I support.

There are many young people here. many of them have not started university education. If they are able to be harnessed, it will help Wikipedia get many young people that will contribute for a long time. Finding them from study center is a good idea. I also know the applicant who have participated in some edit a thons that I attended. He shows a lot of interest and hard working. I support.

I believe that this proposal is a good one in the sense that it targets the base of youths in Nigeria. we have many boys and girls in these schools. also that class of youths have not been participating. Just a few of them like the applicant. I support

Not funded edit

Hello Tyler1555, thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After reviewing your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request. Here are the reasons for our decision:

  • Lack of capacity: The applicant or the team did not show sufficient capacity on target Wikimedia projects to run the project. We recommend gaining more experience on Wikimedia projects as a contributor and trainer.
  • Budget alignment: Project impact is not aligned with the requested budget.
  • Youth safety: It is required to have a youth safety policy in place, when the proposal indicates direct contact with children or youth.
  • We highly recommend you to reach out and coordinate with Wikimedia Nigeria User Group to collaborate together as they will be glad to support the project. You may also consider applying for their microgrant program.

Best regards, DGuedri (WMF) (talk) 14:34, 17 April 2023 (UTC) (on behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team)Reply
