Support Ghanaian Pidgin English since it's a popular language in Ghana and more often by youth in Ghana. Its existence in Ghana has help the youth to easily interact or flow very well when talking with their friends, customers or colleagues in terms of doing business, learning, doing research, having fun, expressing yourself and so on. When it comes to the strategies and activities proposed and the levels of community engagement, The Ghanaian Pidgin community has very active wikipedia or wikimedia editors who are so far helping in this project. I hopefully know and believe this proposed project is really going to bring and lift the name of Wikipedia and Wikimedia Foundation as a whole to the highest level. I finally and fully support this project. Yaw tuba (talk) 17:18, 23 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Support I strongly believe the existence of an active Ghanaian Pidgin Wikipedia is essential in the Ghanaian Wikipedia space. Pidgin is a universal language as it is being spoken across the regions in Ghana. I particularly love this idea because the language is a bonding tool for Ghanaian youths. I believe that in as much as we are trying to introduce the world of Wiki to the youth in Ghana, we must adopt the idea of communicating to them trough languages that they can easily comprehend, associate and resonate with. Pidgin is the ideal language for that as we already have some local languages from Ghana on wiki.

Feedback from the Middle East and Africa regional funds review team edit

Hi DaSupremo, thank you for submitting your grant application. After reviewing your grant proposal, we have some requests regarding the grant proposal:

  • Please clarify all activities that you plan to carry out. These activities should be aligned with the proposed budget. (question 3)
  • Review and clarify the metrics questions. For example, you plan to have 80 participants and improve 100 articles. Does it mean that during a month-long contest each participant will edit only 1 article? (questions 16-17)
  • Additionally, review the budget and reduce costs regarding venue, projector and camera, internet. Remove unforeseen expenses. (budget file, questions 19-20)

Please make requested updates on Fluxx. Log in to the Grantee Portal and you will see your application in the 'Proposals need attention' section. Edit and re-submit your application by November 6, 2022.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for your time, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 16:26, 28 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi DSaroyan (WMF) (talk). Thanks for the message.
The 80 participants are for both online and in person participation. We do not expect all of them to contribute on the Incubator. We expect about 40 participants as stated in the proposal to contribute. We have increased the number of articles to be created and improved to 300, Since there will be a contest, we hope to see more edits and participation.
Concerning the budget, inflation is currently high in Ghana (https://www.bog.gov.gh/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/MPC-Press-Release-October-2022.pdf). Unforeseen expenses had been removed as requested. Thanks daSupremo   11:44, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
